From Fashion to Furniture pt I

Hello hello! I’ve been working with the fabulous Justice Topaz lately to create a brand new concept in Second Life blogging. From Fashion to Furniture will be a miniseries starring some awesome and well-known fashion bloggers who will create a distinct look (or looks) while I then translate those looks into the interior world. I know. It’s aesthetics overload. Justice’s fashion credits can be seen here while mine are just below!

So this first look was definitely inspired by 80’s heavy rock, glam, drugs, sex — the whole shabang. How does one even translate that into furniture? Easy. An amplifier side table and awesome music headphones from Stuff Store (they even change textures, but we must stray away from those Bob Marley colors in this look, my friends) are translated from the music t-shirt. The spiky headband and gold accessories are translated into the gold, spiky deer head with some jewelry hanging from it, and the high shoulders from the top are rendered into a wing back chair.

Next up is a look that that is totally 1930’s Art Deco with a modern twist in the color choice. The brown color from the fur can be seen in the Art Deco circle shelf while the fur itself can be seen on the floor. The green and blue mix is thrown throughout the room while the romantic jewelery is translated as accessories on the shelf and on the table.

The final look done by Justice is this cutesy, vintage inspired outfit. The colors of gold, muted teal, raspberry, and purple are shown throughout the room. The gold hoops are turned into a gold side table next to the reading chair (an amazing new piece from .:: ONE GRID ::. which will be coming this week!), and the print from the skirt is thrown onto a rug. A flirty updo is translated into intimate accessories such as wine glasses, candles, and some love letters.

Concrete Autumn

It’s that time of year to live in your snuggie, warm up by your fire (or your computer), and drink that delicious hot chocolate. You can’t go wrong with decorating for the best holiday ever, but it can look pretty overloaded and too try-hardish. So, stick with brighter colors (you can even do turquoise walls) along with black and place some horrifying pieces here and there. Just don’t forget to take them down when Halloween is over. If you do forget, I will take no blame for people being weirded out when they go to your house.

Strange Magic

Hello precious interior fanatics! I come bearing gifts of new rooms. I think I’ve only posted one or two bathrooms on my old blog so I figured that has to change. I also wanted some colors I didn’t normally play with and I found this combination, inspired by real life designs, to be poifect. My favorite part of these rooms is the hanging light above the credenza (mostly because it took forever to figure out how to assemble it from other pieces). Honey, I’m Home!

Hi all! It’s been a few years. Oh, you’re angry you say? You brought pitchforks? No matter! I’ve come back with some pretty sweet designs and I already have a few projects stacked under my belt. So, for my first post back I wanted to do a classy yet very homey aesthetic filled room that incorporates some of me in it. No, the room is not as inappropriate nor as handsome as the real deal, but you can get a quick taste of course. I definitely tried to tone all that down by adding in some ochre/honey colored items alongside some fabulous eclectic pieces. Oh good. I see you put down the torches finally.
